Picton (Christmas)
Nous arrivons à Picton (ville du ferry pour traverser depuis l'île du Sud jusqu'à l'île du Nord) pour fêter Noel. Nous avons réservé un camping pour les 2 prochains jours.
Premièrement nous avons fait un tour dans Picton. Et ce fut une très bonne surprise car la ville (d'environ 30 000 habitants) est très agréable et plutôt jolie.
We've arrived in Picton (town famous cos the ferry going from there to the North Island) for Christmas. We have booked a camping for two nights there.
First at all we went in the town. And that was a good surprise, because Picton is a really nice town.

Nous nous sommes aussi promené sur le "waterfront" et la marina.
We aslo walked on the waterfront and the marina.

Nous sommes aussi allés marcher sur une petite colline qui se trouve face aux Marlborough Islands. La vue y était plutôt cool.

Sur cette même colline, j'ai été faire un peu de VTT. Les chemins y étaient très étroits (pauvre vélo)

Dans tout ça je ne vous ai pas encore parlé de Noel. Pour la deuxième année de suite, je fête ça en été, et ça fait toujours aussi bizarre car on ne ressent pas l'ambiance de Noel que l'on connait en Europe. Mais ça ne nous a pas empêcher de manger mieux qu'à l'habitude (tout en respectant notre budget de backpackers). Viande, crevettes, fromage, vin blanc, vin rouge, ça nous a changé des nos habitudes alimentaires !
But we were there for Christmas. So, I will talk a little bit about that. For the second year I've spended Xmas in summer, witch is pretty weird, cos we don't feel the same atmophere as Xmas in Europe. But it doesn't matter for us, the important thing was to eat better (even if we have a budget). With meat, cheese, prawns, white & red wine, it's been different than our habits.

Donc voilà, après ça nous partons en direction d'Abel Tasman où nous avons prévu un Jour de l'An plutôt inhabituel.
So now we are going to Abel Tasman to spend a New Year little bit different than the classic party !
